surfaces will be ripped to a depth of 8 inches with a bulldozer equipped with a claw
and graded to blend with surrounding topography. Seed bed preparation and
seeding will proceed as described above in accordance with the NRCS
recommendation.
No ponds or streams are on site. The only structures are portable control
vans and will be transported from the site at the end of mining. No waste rock
dumps, underground mine openings, or ditches are anticipated at the site.
During final grading and seed bed preparation, where potential exists for
erosion and siltation of the affected land to areas outside the affected land, straw
wattles or straw bales will be placed at the interface. These BMPs will be removed
after the vegetation has established and the potential for erosion has been
decreased.
Plant Growth Medium Preservation:
Throughout the mining area, salvageable surface material will be removed
with a scraper and stockpiled for use in final reclamation. Topsoil stockpiles will be
seeded as described in Exhibit D.
Weed Control Plan
Beth Campbell and Bill Ault of the TCCD performed a vegetation inventory on
September 18, 2012. The subsequent October 9, 2012 weed report is provided. Ms.
Campbell reviewed the report on November 2, 2015 and indicated it was still valid.
No State -listed noxious plant species were observed at the time of the inspection. It
was noted the site was suffering from the prolonged drought. During the life of the
mine and throughout reclamation, the area will be monitored for noxious weeds and
appropriate methods to manage weed growth will be implemented. A Weed Control
Plan is included in this exhibit. Ms. Campbell also provided four publications for
weed awareness education. As recommended by Ms. Campbell, TCCD will be
contacted soon after seeding to set up a schedule for regular site visits by TCCD.
9
Revised October 18, 2016
