Scott Wanstedt
Page 2
11/22/2016
Maintenance work conducted during the 3rd quarter included spreading and compacting refuse on RP -
2/3/4 and 5a; as well as, cleaning the east cell of the sediment pond for the RP -21314 refuse pile.
Fourteen compaction tests were performed this quarter, all of the test results produced proctor values
above 90 percent. There were no indications of seepage or any indications of slope failure. The slopes of
the piles are stable and only some localized erosion has occurred. The surface drainage facilities are
properly conveying surface runoff from the refuse bank areas.
This concludes the Division's review of the 3111 Quarter 2016 Professional Certification of the Coal
Processing Waste Banks for the Deserado Mine.
