BMP monitoring of the on-going gravel mining operation is the responsibility of the contractor
per the terms of the stormwater management permit (SWMP #COG501529) issued by the
CDPHE and annual monitoring reports are due each year by February 15. This report will
include information as to the operation's overall compliance with the SWMP, a summary of
inspections to date, and any actions taken. A copy of this report can be provided to the USACE
upon request to satisfy this monitoring requirement.
3.2 Water Quality Monitoring
3.2.1 Water Chemistry Analysis
Water chemistry data from the upstream and downstream sample locations is provided in Table 1
below. Overall, the data indicates that measured parameters were typically similar at the
upstream and downstream sample stations during each sampling event, indicating the mining
activities were not significantly affecting water quality of Devil Creek.

3.2.2 Benthic Macroinvertebrate Sampling
Benthic macroinvertebrate data is provided in Attachment B. The results the sampling effort
yielded Multi-metric Index (MMI) scores of 5752 at the upstream sample location and 62.29.47
at the downstream sample location. Both scores represent "attainment" of expected biological
quality of Devil Creek in accordance with CDPHE Policy Statement 10-1. The data indicates
