0 2.05.3
construction project. Excess fill from the preparation plant site work was be
placed along this road segment.
Dust control on this road segment includes gravel surfacing and watering to
maintain surface moisture.
Alternative sediment control will be utilized to assure that erosion, siltation,
pollution of air or water, and damage to public property will be controlled.
The use of dust and alternative sediment control will assure that no damage
to fish and wildlife or other related environmental values will occur.
The truck traffic which will utilize this haul road segment will be 10 wheel haul
trucks and 35 to 50 ton haul trucks. Considering the light traffic anticipated, a
20 -foot wide road surface should be adequate for these haul trucks. Vehicle
traffic should have no problem with this road configuration. About 300 -feet of
segment one has an 11 % grade, from Stations 126+00 to 126+00. No other
area of either haul road segment exceeds 10% grade.
Design and Construction
For the construction of this road segment, all vegetation material and topsoil
. will be removed from the design road bed, shoulders, and surfaces where
associated structures will be placed. Topsoil will be placed in one of the
topsoil stockpiles located on site. No vegetation material or topsoil will be
placed beneath or in any haul road embankment.
The embankment specification presented above applies to this road
segment.
Drainage
The discussion of drainage presented above under the discussion of the
main haul road is applicable to this road segment except drainage from this
road segment does not pass through a sediment pond. Drainage from this
road segment will be routed off the road surface into collection ditches off of
both sides of the road. Before this drainage is allowed to flow into any
defined drainage it will be passed though some form of alternative sediment
control. This alternative sediment control may include straw dikes, riprap,
check dams, mulches, vegetative sediment filter, dugout ponds silt fences or
other measures that reduce overland flow velocity, reduce run-off volume or
trap sediment.
• PR -12 2.05-29- 02/10
PP2oV6b
I I /14/1 b
