This system is proposed to mitigate standing water that is
present along the northwest boundary of the Spier's property. In places the water is
discharging to the surface at an estimated rate of 5 GPM. The area around the Spier
Property was mined and backfilled with a fine grained overburden material and is
believed to be causing the problem.
To resolve this issue, RMCC retained Bishop & Brogden Associates, Inc. to evaluate and
design a permanent solution to lower ground water levels and prevent standing water
from occurring in the future. This Technical Revision request proposes to install a
French Drain System around the Spier's Property that will drain into the McCann Ditch.
Attached to this request is Bishop & Brogden's engineering analysis and proposed
design. The French Drain we are proposing will consist of a collector trench that will
intercept native alluvial gravels along the Spier's Property boundary and a transmission
trench to facilitate drainage to the McCann Ditch. The details of the design are attached
for your review.
RMCC is prepared to begin installation of this system immediately upon approval of this
TR request. We estimate 1 month to mobilize a contractor and complete the work.
As required, RMCC will continue to check water levels in the adjacent monitor wells to
determine the effectiveness of this system.
Other Boral Companies Include Boral Best Block LLC/Boral Construction Materials LLC/Ready Mixed Concrete Company
