W■
Fox Engineering Solutions, Inc.
November 3, 2016
Mr. James Beckwith
Attorney at Law
5460 Ward Road, Suite 120
Arvada. CO 80002
Re: Fontanari Property — Soil Analysis Reports
Dear Mr. Beckwith,
As indicated in the Fox Engineering Solutions' report entitled "Preliminary Water
Rights and Irrigation Report", dated October 2016, soil samples collected from the
Fontanari property has been sent to a laboratory for analyzes and the testing results
were pending. Enclosed are the completed Soils Analysis Reports for those soil
samples which were collected on October 18, 2016. The locations of these
sampling areas are identified on the attached site map.
Ten individual soil samples were collected in each of the three designated sampling
areas with the assistance of Doug Dean from the Colorado State University Tri River
Area Extension Office. The three composite samples were sent to Ward
Laboratories, Inc. located in Kearney, Nebraska for analyzes. Ward Laboratories,
Inc. is an agriculture testing laboratory specializing in testing soils, plants, feed,
forages, water, manures, fertilizer and other special testing projects. They are
permitted by the United States Department of Agriculture - Animal and Plant Health
Inspection Service per 7 CFR 330.
In our follow-up discussions with Dr. Raymond Ward of Ward Laboratories, Dr. Ward
indicated that the three soils analyzed had very good fertility and would be excellent
for orchards, pasture grasses and other crops. The Ward Laboratories reports
recommended the application of nitrogen fertilizer to enhance production and
additional zinc applications for orchards.
Additionally, the soil testing results were sent to Dr. Ron Godin, agronomist/soil
scientist, with Colorado State University Extension Office. Based on the soil reports,
Dr. Godin indicated that there are no restrictions as to what crops to plant and that
the addition of nutrients (fertilizer) was advised. Dr. Godin also recommended some
form of sprinkler irrigation over flood/furrow irrigation due to the subsidence and
fissure issues associated with the property. A copy of Dr. Godin's email response is
attached.
FONTANARI APPENDIX S
