Martin Julie Mikulas
Marietta BE CEIVEQ Land Manager
November 2, 2016 NOV 0 s 2018
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
Mr. Eric Scott MINING S SAFETY
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Technical Revision to M-2001-051 for Conveyor Bridge and Reclamation Re-configuration
Dear Mr. Scott:
During your inspection of the North Taft Expansion Site M-2001-051 on 2/3/16, we discussed changing
the reclamation to match what had been approved and recorded with Larimer County. Their plan shows
the site having one unlined groundwater reservoir rather than the two ponds the DRMS plan shows. We
do not feel that we have sufficient material on the site to build the road back up to create two ponds
after mining. Prior to your inspection, we had already obtained a new road access permit and installed
the access road for the neighbor to the west as shown on the Larimer County approved plan. You had
stated that we need to submit a technical revision to align the two plans. Revised mining and
reclamation plans are enclosed.
Also, we briefly discussed extending the conveyor that runs from the processing area on M-1977-439 up
to M-2001-051. At the time, we were working with Larimer County Engineering on the installation of a
conveyor bridge across Taft Hill Road to process material in the north east corner (north side of the
Poudre River and east side of Taft Hill Road) of M-1977-439 rather than trucking the material across the
road. Larimer County granted us the right of way permit and the conveyor bridge has been installed.
You had requested that when it was completed, we submit a technical revision to cover the removal of
the conveyor bridge. This conveyor bridge was moved to this site from M-2003-091 Duckworth permit
and our estimated cost for removal was $50,000. 1 have included everything that we submitted to the
county for the bridge design as well as added the conveyor bridge to the revised mining plan.
Please let me know if anything additional is needed.
Sincerely,
Julie Mikulas
Land Manager
Rocky Mountain Division—Northern Office
1800 N Taft Hill Road, Fort Collins,CO 80534
julie.mikulas@martinmarietta.com
www.martinmarietta.com
