The change in
permit boundary will include drainage
modificaiton to ensure any runoff from
unreclaimed areas remains in the permit
boundary and flows toward the
designated sediment ponds.
The proposed change to final mine
topography is due to the cessation of
ash imports, which reduces the total
quantity of fill material for pit
reclamation. The revised plan would still
result in positive drainage of all
reclaimed areas.
The Keenesburg Strip Mine is a/an
surface coal mine located in Weld
County, approximately 7 miles N of
Keenesburg, Colorado Coal interest is
state and private, and the surface
affected is private land.
