Dear Mr. Tobias: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 9, 2016 an application to revise coal mining operations at the Williams Fork Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Moffat County Mining, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. This permit revision proposes a modification to the vegetation sampling methodologies and vegetation success standards for the Williams Fork Mines. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Craig, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: All or portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, T5N, R91W; part of Section 1, T5N, R92W; and Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, T6N, R91W; portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, T6n, R92W; 6th Prime Meridian. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Round Bottom, Castor Gulch.
