Please explain how
CC'&V plans to prevent, control, and mitigate releases of designated chemicals on this
section of unlined haul road
Response 1:
Installation of liner under the haul road between LOB and SGVLF is impractical
and would create safety concerns for CC&V's haul truck operators including
geotechnical instability. In addition, liner placed beneath the haul road is at risk of
being compromised due to ground pressure exerted by haul truck traffic if less than
20 feet of cover material is used.
CC&V plans to prevent, control, and mitigate any extremely minor potential
releases of designated chemical to this section of unlined haul road using the
approach outlined in CC&V's November 2,2016 correspondence with DRMS.
