Wadsworth Blvd. <br /> Littleton, CO 80128-6901 <br /> RE: Geisert Pit Mitigation Area(Permit No. 199980251)Hydrology Maps and Description <br /> Dear Mr. LaGrone and Mr. Carey: <br /> Enclosed please find a copy of an aerial photograph overlaid with hydrologic system data for the <br /> Geisert Pit Mining Area, an aerial photograph of the general Geisert Pit Mitigation Area and <br /> surrounding mining area, and text explaining the movement of surface water and groundwater <br /> within the greater Geisert Pit gravel mining operation adjacent to the Geisert Pit Mitigation Area. <br /> The hydrology system within the Geisert Pit gravel mining operation is comprised of ditches with <br /> hoses,pumps, and overflow culverts. The following hydrologic mechanisms are in place within the <br /> mining operation boundary adjacent to the Geisert Pit Mitigation Area: <br /> • Two ditches have been excavated between the east and west ponds. Hoses have been laid in <br /> each ditch to move surface water from the east pond to the west pond in times of <br /> dewatering; <br /> • Two overflow culverts (a 24" and a 30 ") have been placed between the west pond and the <br /> Cache La Poudre River; <br />
