SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br /> A. That Weld County will mitigate, for the loss of 2.4 acres of wetlands, in the Geisert Pit as indicated in <br /> the permit application. The wetland plant species to be planted will be coordinated with the Colorado <br /> Division of Wildlife to enhance wildlife and wildlife habitat within the area. This mitigation area will be <br /> fenced from all other users of the bank and existing wetlands to aid the Corps of Engineers with required <br /> compliance inspections. <br /> B, That'Geisert Pit Mitigation Banking Area will be recognized and accepted as a wetland mitigation bank <br /> as defined in the wetland mitigation banking guidelines or Weld County will provide the Corps with an <br /> acceptable wetland mitigation plan and location and that plan will be implemented prior to the Corps <br /> reviewing an application for completing the mining of 83`d Avenue Gravel Mine. <br /> C. That annual wetland monitoring reports will be performed by the applicant each year beginning in <br /> 2000. These reports will be submitted to the Tri-Lakes Project Office on or before December 1,of each <br /> year for a minimum of 5 years and until the Corps determines the mitigation viable and self-sustaining. <br /> These reports will include but not be limited to the following information: These reports will be <br /> performed by a qualified wetland scientist. <br /> • Corps ID number,name of the project; <br /> • a discussion of successes, failures, and problems; <br /> • percent of the vegetated area that contains wetland species,list of prevalent plant <br /> species; <br /> • a vicinity map and drawings of the project identifying the mitigation and construction <br /> areas; <br /> • photographs of the mitigation site(to be taken from the same location and time period <br /> during the growing season each year and submitted with each report); and <br /> • a discussion of the number of acres of mitigation taking place at each site. <br /> D. The applicant will seek input from the Colorado Division of Wildlife regarding the management plan of <br /> this area so the CDOW may provide useful input that benefits wildlife and wildlife habitat. <br /> b. <br />
