COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
A.. Mining and Safety
Department ut Natural Rexuwce,
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Inter Office Memorandum
TO: Jason Musick, DRMS
Tabetha Lynch
FROM: Robin Reilley, GISP, DRMS
Date: November 3, 2016
RE: Trapper Mine TRI. 17 File No. C1981010
Adequacy Review
As requested I have completed my review of the TRI 17 ditch design for the Deacon Jeffery Diversion. It
appears that for channels 4, 5, and 6 the design discharge is adequate. Also, the subwatershed areas,
slopes and hydraulic lengths appear consistent. Peak discharge for structures 1 and 3 appear consistent.
Based on DRMS review of the current mine plan, areas associated with the Deacon Jeffery Diversion are
permitted for future disturbance. As such Curve Numbers (CN), used in the submitted design do not
reflect the current mine plan. DRMS believes a Curve Number is the appropriate curve number for the
current design. Curve numbers submitted were 66, 72 and 63.
a) Please provide Deacon Jeffery Diversion designs reflecting a CN of 86,
b) or, discuss the land use or land cover conditions used to arrive at the curve
numbers for the three watersheds in the Deacon Jeffery Diversion.
Kind Regards
Robin Reilley, GISP
Environmental Protection Specialist
P 303.866.3567 ext 8105 1 F 303.832.8106
1313 Sherman Street St., Suite 215, Denver, CO 80203
robin.reilley(cstate.co.us I http://mininQ.state. coms
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining. state. co. us
John W.
