OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection of the Antelope Hill Gravel Pit, DRMS File No. M-1978-172 operated
by Delta County. This site is located 2.5 miles southeast of Eckhart, Colorado in Delta County. I, Stephanie
Mitchell of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Mr. Bob
Basher and Larry Record of Delta County accompanied me on the inspection.
This is a 70.30 acre 112c operation. 33 acres are currently disturbed. The southeastern "finger" is mined out
and completely reclaimed totaling 21.8 acres. The south or middle is currently being mined. The post mining
land use is wildlife habitat.
On site there was a crusher, 2 Loaders, and a water truck. Fuel is being stored in proper containment and has
secondary containment.
Boundary markers consist of t -posts.
Overall, the mine site is very tidy.
Noxious weeds appeared to be under control and visibly dead.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted or observed during the October 4, 2016 inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone no. 970-242-5025.
