EXHIBIT C-Mining Plan
a) The mining is expected to begin as soon as possible after a permit is obtained. The
operation will provide material for construction projects and road building in the area.
Anticipated life of the pit is indefinite. Since the County will only use material when
they are working on roads in the area, the supply will undoubtedly last for a number
of years. The pit should be classified as an intermittent pit.
b) The mining plan is to begin removal of the material beginning at the existing area of
disturbance. Mining will move east and then around the existing disturbance.
Excavation will continue as the need for material continues and as the supply remains
available. There is topsoil in the area that averages about 7"in depth. The pit will
have the topsoil stripped and stockpiled for re-application during reclamation. Topsoil
will be stripped and stockpiled to the east side of the area to be mined. Any topsoil
stockpile will be seeded with grass to prevent wind erosion. There also appears to be
6"up to three feet of overburden. Overburden will be separately stockpiled to the
east side of the pit and seeded to prevent wind erosion.
c) There would appear to be no waste rock or material at the site.
d) Mining is anticipated to a depth of around 15 feet. Mining depth will be kept above
existing groundwater. The mining plan is to begin at the area previously disturbed in
the center of the entire pit area. Mining will move eastward and then around the
disturbed area. No slopes will be left greater than 3:1.
e) The pit will be accessed from County Road WW to County Road 5. There will be no
shop, plant, or other facilities located at the mine site. The equipment that may be
used to mine the gravel will be a front-end loader, dozer, and trucks. Some
stockpiling of usable material may be done at the site, but most of the material will be
utilized as it is mined. Any stockpiling that does occur will be placed in the
immediate vicinity where mining is occurring. The anticipated stockpile area is
shown on the mining plan. No processing of material is anticipated, but if the need
arises, limited processing could occur at the site.
f) There is an old existing disturbance in the approximate center of the site. It has been
used in the past by the landowner to provide material for his farming operation.
g) There will be internal haul roads that will be reclaimed when the mine is closed. No
access roads will be built since they are already in existence.
