After repairs conducted to repair the Haul Road HR -1 slide area, cross-sectional area for construction
of the sediment ditch in this area is less than indicated by the topographic survey obtained for the
approved 2010 design. To accommodate the reduced cross-section, the ditch has been re -designed
with a corrugated metal pipe arch (OMPA) half -pipe flume to convey the sediment drainage while
controlling erosion. The CMPA flume will also limit infiltration of water into the soils on the slope
to avoid conditions that could re -mobilize the slide.
The revised plan and profile and revised design cross-sections for the sediment ditch from the
buttress to the sediment pond is shown in Appendix C on Drawing C- 14A.
