The NRCS's Web Soil Survey (WSS) website provides soil data and
information produced by the National Cooperative Soil Survey.
The northern most area, denoted as Fontanari Tract 70, is comprised of 23 acres. The soil is identified as
Barx-Clapper Complex comprised of loam, clay loam, channery loam and very stoney cobbly loam. The
parent material is colluvium derived sandstone and siltstone and/or colluvium derived from sandstone
and shale. The soil is comprised of 23.8% clay, 39.0% sand and 37.2% silt. Infiltration rates range for
moderately high to high at 0.20 to 2.0 inches per hour. The soil complex is listed in both hydrologic soil
group B and C.
The eastern area, denoted as Fontanari Tract 71 East, is comprised of 43 acres. The area is comprised of
three different soil types including 30.2 acres of Barx-Clapper Complex, 12.5 acres of Torriorthents
outcrop and 0.4 acres of Clapper stoney loam. The parent material is colluvium derived sandstone and
siltstone and/or colluvium derived from sandstone and shale. The soils are comprised of 22.8% clay,
39.8% sand and 37.4% silt. Infiltration rates range for moderately high to high at 0.20 to 2.0 inches per
hour with the Torriorthents having very low infiltration. The soils are listed in hydrologic soil groups B, C
and D.
The southern area, denoted as Fontanari - Carey Tract 71 South, is comprised of 34 acres. The area is
comprised of two different soil types including 26.2 acres of Barx-Clapper Complex and 7 acres of
Fox Engineering Solutions, Inc. October 2016 Page 5
