The bond <br />release application was found complete by this Division on October 12, 2016. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining initiate from this <br />date of filing. <br /> <br />Bond Release No. 2 (SL-2) associated with the Bowie No. 1 Mine represents a partial Phase I, <br />II, and III bond release request application. SL-2 requests the release on 24.2 acres of partial <br />Phase I and the release of 33 sealed drill holes. The total amount of reclamation liability <br />request to be released is $350,000. The surface ownership is federal and private, and the coal <br />mined was federal and private. <br /> <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles Northeast of <br />Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, and 22, Township 13 South, Range 91 <br />West of the 6th P.M.
