The bond
release application was found complete by this Division on October 12, 2016. Bond Release No.
2 (SL-2) associated with the Bowie No. 1 Mine represents a partial Phase I, II, and III bond
release request application. SL-2 requests the release on 24.2 acres of partial Phase I and the
release of 33 sealed drill holes. The total amount of reclamation liability request to be released is
$350,000. The surface ownership is federal and private, and the coal mined was federal and
private.

We will contact you to advise you of the Division's required bond release inspection of the site as
soon as it has been scheduled. A proposed decision on the application will be issued within sixty
(60) days of our inspection.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Jason D.
