The Coal Ridge Mine is inactive; therefore, no company <br />representative was present for the inspection. The weather was cloudy with a temperature of 60 degrees <br />Farenheight. The ground conditions were dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the Coal Ridge Mine are kept at the County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. The <br />records are in good condition. There are items in the records that need to be updated, please see the <br />Availability of Records form at the end of this report for more details. <br />The Insurance Certificate in the permit has expired, please update the records with the current certificate. <br />Other information on the Availability of Records form in bold font are items that need to be updated. <br /> <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> The sediment pond and the associated ditches were reclaimed in the fall of 2015. The two remaining <br />topsoil piles were used in the reclamation process. The backfilled and graded pond and ditches (Photo 1) did not <br />show any signs of settling or cracking. No erosional issues were spotted with the reclaimed areas.
