Ground conditions were dry. The day was sunny and a cool 54 degrees F.

Robin Reilley of the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) conducted the inspection. This is a
revoked site; therefore no company operator was present for the inspection.

PERMITTING UPDATE

This site underwent year ten vegetation sampling in July 2016 and DRMS conducted the bond release
inspection simultaneously in conjunction with The Department of Interiors’ Office of Surface Mining (OSM).
Final review of two years of sampling data (2015 and2016), is currently in progress and DRMS plans to release
the site from its jurisdiction before the end of the year.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6:
The sediment pond was dry. The embankments appeared stable and well vegetated.

RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The main gate into the mine site was closed upon arrival. Cattle were not in the reclamation area nor were there
any signs of grazing in the reclaimed area.

Overall, the vegetation of the reclaimed mine site looked very good. Many species, including the warm season
grasses held seed heads. Cool season grasses were green. Shrubs provided the dominant cover and were
beginning to show their spectacular fall colors.
