PERMIT#:P-2012-004
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: MAC
INSPECTION DATE:July 21,2016
OBSERVATIONS
The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division) and Amy Titterington of the U.S. Forest Service. The Operator was not present for the inspection.
The Purple Hill prospect site is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Deckers, Colorado in the Pike-San
Isabel National Forest. The inspection was conducted as part of the Division's regular monitoring program in
which NOI operations are inspected on a yearly basis.
Prospecting at the Purple Hill site concluded in 2012 and final reclamation was completed in 2013. The
Division observed grasses beginning to establish in clumps across the reclaimed site. The following species
were observed at the site: smooth brome, miner's candle, harebell, fringe sage, mountain mahogany, and
parry geranium. The Operator may wish to lightly rake seed across the site as the reclaimed area lies within a
drainage and some of the broadcast seed may have washed away. At least one more growing season will be
necessary to further establish vegetation. The site was stable and no signs of erosion were noted.
This concluded the inspection.
