The weather was clear with the ground dry at the time of the <br />inspection. No mine related activities were on-going during the inspection. The site remains idle with no <br />reclamation activities being conducted. This partial inspection focused on the Bowie No. 1 Loadout. The Bowie <br />No. 1 Loadout continues to serve as a storage/lay-down area used by Bowie Resources, LLC for the Bowie No. 2 <br />Mine. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The Bowie No. 1 Loadout ponds were stable and dry with no evidence of recent discharge. The embankments <br />were stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. <br /> <br />The clean water ditch on the north side of the Loadout area was re-established in June 2016 due to excessive <br />vegetation growth. No problems were noted with the ditch at the time of the inspection. Basil Bear of BRL noted <br />that re-vegetation would be conducted in the October. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> <br />The Paonia Loadout continues to be utilized by Bowie Resources as a storage facility for mine related material <br />from the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The Loadout was stable with no problems noted. As noted in the Hydrologic <br />Balance section of this report, the north side clear water ditch has recently been cleared and is stable. <br /> <br />A portion of the railway gravel ballast was removed during the summer and the gravel remains stockpiled on site. <br />Basil Bear of Bowie Resources noted that the gravel will be utilized by local landowners.
