Monitoring <br />conducted this year at the Loadout supports these conclusions. <br />Summary <br />The Loadout appears to have little to no impact on the surface and <br />ground water systems in the area. Irrigation return water upstream of <br />the Loadout, along with topsoils derived from the Lewis Shale (which has <br />naturally elevated concentrations of selenium and dissolved solids), are <br />dominate in determining the water quality in the vicinity. Furthermore, <br />the intermittently dry weather conditions that occurred in 2015 may, in <br />part, be responsible for some of the water quality standard exceedances <br />noted this year. <br />
