The next area of active mining at the Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Gold Mine occurs within Globe Hill pit and is expected to commence in March 2017. The development of this pit requires the relocation of CC&V's primary access road. A design for the new access road and parking area are outlined below. A verbal notification of this proposal was made to DRMS on August 31, 2016. Background In 2012, a mine plan for CC&V was approved under Amendment 10 to the Cresson Project Mining and Reclamation Permit. Included within this amendment is a description of the Globe Hill Pit expansion. The development of this pit will preclude access to the Ironclad facility from Teller County road 82. The proposed action included within this TR is to re-establish access to this area of the mine site. The proposed access road will be aligned to minimize native ground disturbance by providing the most direct path between Teller County Road 82, and the parking lot to be constructed adjacent to the Wild Horse Extension (WHEX) pit. Area of Disturbance The area of proposed disturbance is within the northern section of Grassy Valley, depicted in Figure 1. Total disturbance for the access road and parking lot is approximately thirteen acres. Detail including location and type of disturbance is shown in Figure 2. The road will exit Teller County Road 82 and head west towards the WHEX Pit. Near the southern side of the WHEX Pit the road will enter a parking lot of approximately six acres which will extend to the south (Figure 2).
