The bond <br />release application was found complete by this Division on September 15, 2016. Snowcap Coal <br />Company has submitted an application for a Phase II & III bond release for its Roadside North <br />and South Portal Mines, Mining Permit No. C- 1981- 041. A corporate surety bond in the <br />amount of $805, 952.60 is currently in place, of which $58,632.00 is being requeste d for release. <br />The application is requesting the release of approximately 13.6 acres of reclaimed surface lands <br />and 0.2 acres of undisturbed surface lands at Snowcap Coal Company’s Roadside North and <br />South Mines. The spec ific areas to which this bond release request applies is included within the <br />Permit Boundary and are located as follows: <br /> <br />T10S, R98W, 6th P. M. <br />Section 27: Portions of S1/2, SW1/4 <br />Section 28: Portions of SE1/4 <br />Section 34: Portions of SW1/4 and portions of NE1/4, NE1/4 <br /> <br />Reclamation work on these areas was performed from 2002 through 2014. Phase II release is <br />being requested on a portion of CRDA # 1 and Substation G. Phase II and III release is being <br />requested on permanent drainage features and all reclaimed sedimentation ponds. A copy of the <br />bond release application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and <br />Recorder’s office, 200 S. Spruce, Grand Junction, CO.
