Colowyo Coal Company L.P.
Neilson Pit
Such practices are expected to result in land use capabilities and productivity levels equal
to or greater than those presently found prior to mining.
Weed management will continue to occur as needed, to ensure the stability and success of
the reclamation process.
Revegetation Plan
Once mining is concluded in the Neilson Pit, the upper reaches of the pit will be blasted
and graded to a stable slope. The maximum slope that will be left will be a 2:1 with
gentler slopes (4:1) occurring at the western portion of the mined area. After rough
grading of the surface is complete, broadcast seeding will take place. Seeding will be at a
rate of 10 pounds of per live seed per acre with a post-mining goal of fifty stems per acre.
The reclamation seed mixture used contains sufficient diversity for ecological stability.
The seed mixture used will be a mixture of Douglas or Rubber Rabbit Brush, Big Sage
Brush, and Slender Wheatgrass.
6.3.5 Exhibit E—Map
Please refer to the Mine Plan (Figure 2) and the Reclamation Plan (Figure 3) for
additional details.
6.3.6 Exhibit F—List of Other Permits and Licenses Required
No additional permit or licenses are required for this operation.
6.3.7 Exhibit G—Source of Legal Right-to-Enter
Colowyo Coal Company controls all access as the primary land owner into the operation.
Please refer to Figure 4.
6.3.8 Exhibit H—Municipalities within a Two-mile Radius
There are no municipalities within a two-mile radius of this operation.
6.3.9 Exhibit I—Proof of Filing with County Clerk
Please see Figure 5 for Proof of filing with the Moffat County Clerk's Office.
6.3.10 Exhibit J—Proof of Mailing of Notices to Board of County Commissioners
and Soil Conservation District
Proof of mailing to the following entities can be found in Figure 6.
Board of County Commissioners
Moffat County
221 West Victory Way Suite 130
Craig, CO 81625
7
