MANAGEMENT
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, enclosed is an application for a technical revision to allow the
sediment ponds (1-4) at the east mine and the gob pile pond to be reclaimed. This request is based on a
2016 vegetation inventory on both areas that showed the vegetation has flourished. The full Cedar
Creek report is not included, but a summary table of results has been provided for review purposes. The
full Cedar Creek report will be available at the end of September and will be provided to DRMS at that
time.
The attached soil loss comparison determined the untreated drainage from the reclaimed east mine and
gob pile area does not contribute suspended solids to stream flow or runoff outside the permit area in
excess of pre -mining levels. The soil loss comparison should be placed in Volume 8A in the Soil Loss
Equation Tab.
Sincerely,
Tamme Bishop, P.E.
Project Engineer
Attachments: Volume I, pages 2.05-21, 22 & 23
Volume 8A, Soil Loss Comparison
2016 Vegetation Inventory (Summary of Results only, full report will be
submitted when it is available at the end of September)
Cc: Basil Bear
Coal Program Support Staff
