PERMIT#: M-1983-139
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:MAC
INSPECTION DATE:August 17,2016
The City of Arvada was reminded that as the Permittee of the Leyden Pit they are responsible for complying
with Rule 3.1.10(6), which requires that methods of weed control be employed for all prohibited noxious
weed species. The failure to control noxious weeds throughout the site has been cited as a problem and will
require corrective action; please see the first page of this report for additional information. The approved
Weed Control Plan for the Leyden Pit was compared to the reports submitted by the Vegetation Management
Inc. and it was determined that the Weed Control Plan must be updated to account for all noxious weed
species present at the site and the methods of control being employed. The Weed Control Plan shall apply to
the entire site. If different methods of weed control will be employed on the sales yard area, then this must be
addressed in the Weed Control Plan. Also, the Division will require the diffuse knapweed plants with the sales
yard area to be either hand pulled or mechanically removed to prevent the further spread of diffuse
knapweed onto adjacent properties.
The Permittee should be aware that failure to control State listed noxious weeds in the future may result in
the matter being referred to the Mined Land Reclamation Board for consideration of a possible violation.
This concluded the inspection.
