2.10 Maps and Plans
DRMS 10/21/2015:
For King 1007 map please respond to the following questions:
1. Will the disturbed area boundary be increased to encompass the Refuse Pile Proposed
Final Configuration Outline?
The disturbed area boundary shown on King 1- 007 is current. It is our intention to increase
the boundary on subsequent maps as more material is added to the refuse.
2. Where does Reach 1 discharge to?
Reach 1 discharges to an energy dissipater which feeds Reach 2. Reach 2 is an 18" culvert
which discharges into Reach 5 directly behind the Sales Office.
3. What is the final discharge location of water from Reach 10?
Reach 10 discharges to Reach 7. Reach 7 discharges directly into the West Pond.
4. How will the clean water ditch (Reach 1) be configured with respect to the Refuse Pile
Proposed Final Configuration Outline?
Reach 1 will continue to follow the north edge of the refuse pile as it advances up the hill as
more material is added. The resulting steep section will continue to be rip -rapped as per the
current approved designs.
5. Does a buried leach line follow the road across the lower portion of the refuse pile?
No. There is a buried underdrain system as per the current approved designs, but it does not
follow the road.
In general for all maps please make them legible and easier to use as follows:
o Orient all text horizontally from left to right (except waterways),
eliminate upside down, sideways etc. text.
o Make sure text is not obscured, overlapped or overlapping other layers.
o Please remove symbology from the map that is not pertinent to the map.
o In the legend, please call out all symbols used on the map.
o Be aware of font size.
