Box 773457 . steamboat springs, colorado . 80477
August 23, 2016
Mr. Rob Zuber, P.E. -Reclamation Specialist AUG ZS LU'6
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining& Safety
Q#i/ISION C= PECLy,.","ATION
1313 Sherman St, Room 215 MINING AND SAFETY
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Technical Revision No.47 (TR-47) Request — Permit Area Reduction
Permit No. C-1981-014—Southfield Mine
Dear Rob Zuber:
Accompanying this letter are Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. (EFCI) application, public notice, and
revised permit materials for Technical Revision No. 47 (TR-47), requesting a reduction of the
permit area at the Southfield Mine. The subject permit area reduction involves the vast majority
of the mine site, and the entirety of the coal loadout.
Submittal of this revision follows the Division's recent bond release approvals, specifically
SL-03 and SL-04. TR-47 addresses all the areas, both permit and disturbed areas, approved for
release in accordance with the aforementioned bond release applications. The proposed reduced
permit area, comprising approximately 1.15 acres, encompasses two small areas in long-term
reclamation at the mine site. These are described in detail in the revised permit pages and are
portrayed on a new permit map.
EFCI has closed its office in Florence, so revised pages are included showing the appropriate
address changes under the Identification of Interests section. Additionally, this section is revised
to update information concerning current landowners, permit area descriptions, and current
licenses and other permits. The updated information also states that the complete permit
application and related permit records are on file for public inspection at the Fremont County
Courthouse in Canon City.
