The request has been reviewed for the Board of Examiners of Water Well <br /> Construction and Pump Installation Contractors. The request is specifically for a variance from the well <br /> construction standards to allow the installation of pumping equipment in a pond or gravel pit well. <br /> Pursuant to Board Policy 2000-4 and the authority granted by the Board, the required variance to the Rules <br /> is granted subject to the following conditions: <br /> 1. Every necessary means and precautions to prevent contaminants from entering the pond or gravel <br /> pit well shall be taken. <br /> 2. Pumping equipment shall be installed in accordance with the limitations for production rate <br /> specified on the well permit. <br /> 3. Water from the pond well shall not be used for human consumption. <br /> 4. Rule 15 concerning disinfection standards is hereby waived for the pond well and the installation of <br /> pumping equipment in the pond well. <br /> 5. The pump must have been installed by a licensed pump installation contractor or by the owner with <br /> equipment both owned and operated by the owner. <br /> 6.
