Please see DRMS
comments in italics below with Newmont's response to comments in bold.
Comment ]:Precipitates. The Division's goal is to prevent mill discharge solution from
ponding on the surface of the AGVLF. How will CC&V determine when an infiltration
well needs to be "cleaned" other than observing ponding near the surface of the
AGVLF?
Response 1: CC&V employees currently measure the well water levels weekly. When
the water levels get to within 10 feet of the surface CC&V staff will clean out the wells.
Comment 2: Monitoring and Closure
a. The second sentence in the second paragraph on the last page of the TR-79mrequest
letter has three conditions, following an "if' condition. Please confirm the "if'
condition is limited to the mill continuing to operate after the AGVLF is closed, in
which case, new wells would be installed on the SG VLF and the pipeline rerouted,
w
