Record Keeping-Keeping accurate and consistent records of each field <br /> application is not only required by the Colorado Department of <br /> Agriculture, but is necessary in tracking billing, inventory,total treated <br /> acres,fulfilling research needs, etc. A written recording procedure is in <br /> place. , <br /> B: Monitoring—Determining the success of our field efforts is critical, <br /> Photographs are regularly taken as documentation in the field. Photo <br /> points are sometimes established at appropriate points before and after <br /> treatments. Both close-up, percent canopy cover photos, as well as large <br /> .view photos are useful and are taken from recognizable, repeatable <br /> locations. Narrative, off hand comments documenting unusual situations <br /> are kept as valuable permanent records. Where practical,trial plots are <br /> established to evaluate treatment methods. Handheld GPS units facilitate <br /> quick and accurate locations of weed patches. <br /> C. Overall—Every successful organization is in a constant state of self- <br /> evaluation. Those standing pat are soon left behind, We periodically ask <br /> ourselves—Are we meeting or at least progressing toward existing goals? <br /> Are gttr goals still appropriate? Are our cetr_tnunity leaders on Board? Is <br /> our funding still sound? Are our key people still performing up to <br /> expectations?
