' COMPLLANCE AND EYIPLEMENTATION This plan complies.with the <br /> Colorado Noxious Weed Act(Title 35, Article 5.5, revised by the Colorado <br /> Legislature in 1996). It will be implemented through.the Jackson County <br /> Noxious Weed Management Program,which-.will be overseen by the County <br /> Weed Coordinator, under the direction of the Citizens Advisory Weed Board, <br /> and approval of the Jackson County Commissioners. <br /> II. PURPOSE This plan is a guide for accomplishment in managing noxious <br /> weeds within Jackson County. The mission,is to manage, contain, reduce and <br /> elim!'nate populations of non-native invasive weeds which pose a threat to the <br /> environment and the economy of the County, by compromising agricultural <br /> production, property values,wildlife habitats, outdoor,recreational <br /> opportunities, and the native plant populations found here. <br /> M. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES The goal is to kill noxious weeds! The <br /> objectives to reaching that goal are more complicated and include the <br /> following faceti: <br /> A. Educate the North Park community to the importance of weed <br /> management. <br /> B. Maximize community entities workm together toward our purpose. <br /> C. Be innovative and creative in approaching weed problems. <br /> D. By weed species—reduce individgal po ulan tions and re_vegetate sites so <br /> that there are fewer weed plant numbers at.the end of the year than at the <br /> beginning. <br /> E. Strive for continual eradication, that means not once but whenever they <br /> show themselves, all state mandated weeds but also other species as <br /> deemed warranted, <br /> F. Offer landowners and land managers quality and effective weed <br /> management planning and consulting. <br /> G. Solicit funding from available federal, state,local, and private sources as <br /> necessary to achieve our mission. <br /> H. Havg funl <br /> IV. BOUNDS AND NAMES The physical boundary is Jackson County. All <br /> lands within the County fall within the scope of weed management.
