I want to point out a issue that we have ran across with our consultant who is preparing
the Cultural Resource Baseline in accordance with Exhibit 5, Item 3 (attached for reference). Exhibit 5, Item 3 lists
eligible site 5MF6089 as a site that will be included in the baseline. In the 2006, Class III Report prepared by TRC
Mariah, it notes site 5MF6089 as not eligible for listing on the NRHP, and cultural resource clearance was recommend
with no further work required. Further, our consultant retrieved the following information for the Colorado SHPO
Compass Database for site 5MF6089:
5MF.6089 is listed as NOT ELIGIBLE -OFFICIALLY in 8/12/2005 and as NOT ELIGIBLE- FIELD in 3/09/2007.
That being said, we believe the appropriate site to include in this baseline assessment in lieu of 5MF6089 is site
5MF6088. Site 5MF6088 is physically on the ground about 500' southeast of site 5MF6089. The Colorado SHPO
Compass Database lists site 5MF6088 as:
5MF.6088 is listed as NEEDS DATA -FIELD on 8/12/2005 and as NEEDS DATA -OFFICIALLY on 3/9/2007.
I believe you will most likely prefer we monitor 5MF6088 for condition and 5MF6089 is dropped off the list. I would
appreciate you input into the matter. If you agree I can have our consultant move forward with the baseline assessment,
and I can submit a revision to mining permit C-1981-008 to revise Exhibit 5, Item 3 to remove site 5MF6089 and replace
it with 5MF6088.
I thank you in advance for your time, input, and efforts on this matter. Take care.
Tony Tennyson
Senior Environmental Engineer
Tri-State Generation & Transmission Assoc.
Office: 970.824.1232
M
Please consider the environment before printing this email.
Zach Trujillo
Environmental Protection Specialist
https://mail.googl e.com/m ai I/u/0/?ui=2&i k=e29129fcb5&view=pt&search= i nbox&th=1569eO4ce692759c&si m l=1569eO4ce692759c 2/3
