PERMIT #: M-2014-017
INSPECTOR’S INITIALS: DMC
INSPECTION DATE: August 4, 2016

OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection. The operator was not present. Photographs are included with this report
in order to illustrate the conditions observed.
The site is located at 38.661367°, -106.235292°, approximately 10.5 miles southwest of Nathrop, on the north
flank of Mount White at an approximate elevation of 12,400 feet.
Adequate mine identification signage was noted at the entrance to the site.
The affected area was marked by posts that were clearly visible and adequate to delineate the affected area
boundary.
A small parking area has been created at the end of the access road with area large enough to accommodate several
vehicles. The cut-slope above the parking area is nearly vertical and marginally unstable. From the parking area
the operator has graded a road upslope and to the south which connects two dig areas. An excavator was located
in the lower dig area.
The operation appears to comply with the approved mining plan, however, there is a pending civil case to
determine the validity of the operator’s mineral claim for this site. Depending on the outcome of the case, the
Division will determine which steps may be necessary to maintain compliance with the Act and Rules. The
prospector shall keep the Division apprised of the outcome of the case. No problems or violations were noted
during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Dustin Czapla at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone
number (970) 243-6299.
