A representative for the operator was not present. The site is located at <br />38.661536°, -106.263451°, approximately 11.5 miles west of Nathrop at an elevation of 12,300 feet. The site is accessed <br />by foot from FR277. Mining at the site consists of excavating into the talus slope with hand tools. Waste rock has been used <br />to create benches below the outcrop. No topsoil or vegetation exists at the site. Less than 0.5 acres appeared to be disturbed. <br />Trash from the operation was noted in the drainages below the dig site. The operator shall clean up the site and properly <br />dispose of all trash within 30 days. <br />A mine identification sign was not posted at the site.
