Box 773598 <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Seneca II-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br /> Technical Revision No. 82 (TR-82) <br /> Hydrology Monitoring Plan Reduction. <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Routt County Commissioners: <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 11, 2016 an <br />application to revise coal mining operations at the Seneca II-W Mine was considered complete for <br />the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Property LLC. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br />Seneca Property, LLC is proposing to revise the method for collecting flow data for surface water <br />monitoring, eliminate monitoring of an alluvial well, and eliminate monitoring of an inactivated <br />water supply well. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the <br />area currently approved for disturbance. <br /> <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, <br />Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and <br />35 <br /> T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br /> T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Hayden Gulch.
