I
appreciate the time you took on September 1 , 1987 ro show
Dr. Shropshire, my wife, and I , the quarry and the tracks
that are still in place.
I also want to thank you for the generous gift of racks
that you have made to Dr . Shropshire at the University of
Northern Colorado . This was an excellant thing for you to
do as the tracks can be professionally preserved, studied
and exhibited. I told Dr. Shropshire that I will help
with these matters if I can, and that I am particularly
interested in preparing a display here at the Musetm when
possible.
I know he is very interested in doing some researcii on the
tracks and writing an article. After he finds out more a-
bout similar tracks that have been found near Boulder and
in Arizona, we may be in a position to start planning a
display. I really feel that a display here at the DMNH,
or at the University of Northern Colorado would be in-
complete without the big slab with footprints that you
have. I am hoping you would make this available by loan
or some arrangement for a special exhibit. Please keep
us in mind. I would like to come back up and see you be-
fore the snow starts falling. I still would like to try
and get some pictures of the tracks you showed us rhat
are still on the quarry floor . I will call first nd
see if this is possible.
Best regards,
Jack Murphy, Head Curator
Department of Geology
City Park Denver, Colorado W205 3031370 6347
