A water truck dumped approximately 10,000 gallons of water in the ditch north of the Carey Pond
for the purposes of the survey(photo 2). Small berms were built in the ditch on either side of the known holes to
ensure the maximum amount of water would go in the holes. Ms. Hammond explained that the large hole located
where the ditch turns to the west is the location where the water went into the ground during the last test. This
time, the water did not go into the hole,it percolated into the soil(photo 3). Fugro Consultants,Inc. is scheduled
to conduct the geophysical survey but were not on-site during the inspection. DRMS did not observe the testing.
This test was ordered by SCC and was not a requirement set by DRMS.
SIGNS AND MARKERS ❑Rule 4.02:
Permit boundary signs were in place along the Coal Creek Road and the North Decline gate.
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
PHOTOGRAPHS
i ✓ r.
Photo 1 [Water in Bottom of Carey Pond Photo 2 LJDumping Water in Ditch
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 4
