<br />Bowie Resources, LLC, P.O. Box 483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has submitted to the Division of Reclamation, Mining
<br />& Safety a complete application for the renewal of a valid existing permit to conduct mining in Colorado for
<br />its Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining permit No. C-1996-083.
<br />Most of the mine facilities are located north of Bowie Road near the old town of Bowie, CO. A pump station,
<br />three sediment ponds, the unit train loadout and a coal mine waste pile are located south of Bowie Road. The
<br />Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the mine facilities and north of the unit train loadout. The North Fork of
<br />the Gunnison River is located south of the mine permit boundary. The mine permit area is located on the U.S.
<br />Geological Survey 7.5 minute Bowie and Gray Reservoir Quadrangle maps within the following sections.

<br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine permit contains 10,987.2 acres of land, 5,723.9 acres of private surface and 5,263.3
<br />acres of Federal surface. Private minerals within the permit area encompass 1,957 acres with Federal
<br />minerals accounting for the balance of 9,030.2 acres.
<br />A copy of the permit renewal application is available for public inspection at the Paonia Public Library, 2 Third
<br />Street, Paonia, CO, and at the offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room
<br />215, Denver, CO, 80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments, objections, or a request for an informal conference
<br />on the application may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the Division of
<br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety at the above address and must be received by the Division within 30 days after the
<br />last publication for this notice.
