DRMS highly recomends addressing this situation with the neighbor as soon as
possible with the aim of developing a mutually beneficial solution while the problem is relatively
small and more easily contained and mitigated.

o No offsite impacts were observed at time of inspection.
o No large bare areas or significant erosion problems were observed at the time of inspection with
the exception of:
o The straw bales at the northwest corner as identified in maintenance item #1 require repair.

Photo 1: A series of straw bales to prevent rill
erosion. DRMS’s concerns with this installation
are as follows:
a. Stakes should be driven into the ground
protruding only slightly from bale.
b. Bales must be entrenched into slope.
c. Periodically remove sediment that
accumulates in the BMP to maintain
effectiveness. Sediment should be removed
when the accumulation reaches one-third of
the barrier height.
