4.4 Woody Plant Density
According to permit section 4.15.8, the woody plant density success criterion for this Phase III block
is 150 live stems per acre on approximately 3% (or more) of the reclaimed surface. Tables 4 and 5
(above) and Charts 8 and 9 display the results from the woody plant populations enumerated in 2013 and
2014 on Phase III bond release areas. Shrub density on it patches (based on 75 woody plant density
belts) within the Phase III area has been determined to be an average of 1,265.33 stems per acre in
2013, and 1,475.76 stems per acre in 2014. The acreage of these shrub patches is 25.51% (51.64 acres)
of the total acreage assessed for this Phase III block (202.4 acres). The shrub patches in the East / West
Pit Phase III area exceed the woody plant density success standards for both 2013 and 2014.
July 2015 Page 28
Chart 9
Phase III - Woody Plant Area Success - 2013 & 2014
30.0%
25.51% 25.51%
2S.0%
d 20.0%
u
Q
d
c 35.0%
°
a
= Standard
of Bond Release Bkxk 3%
V 10.0%
°o
3
5.0%
. ...
....................................... ............
0.0%
2013 2014
East / West Pit
July 2015 Page 28
