West Elk Mine 2015 Surface Water and Groundwater Quantity and Quality Data Summary 10 <br />2.3 Groundwater Monitoring Program <br />In WY 2015, a total of 14 wells were monitored as part of the MCC groundwater <br />monitoring program (Tables 6 and 7). This number does not include 14 wells (SOM-2H, <br />SOM-16-H, 96-27-1, SO.W-1, SOM-45-H1, SOM-3E, SOM 13, SOM 129-H, SOM-23- <br />H-1, SOM-23-H-2, SOM-23-H-3, SOM-313, 96-2-2, and SOM-23-H-4) that have been <br />irreparably damaged, blocked, or have collapsed casing. <br />A detailed discussion of the groundwater monitoring wells, and a map showing the well <br />locations can be found in the 2014 Annual Hydrology Report (HydroGeo, 2015). A <br />summary of the groundwater monitoring well characteristics is presented in Table 6, and <br />a summary of the groundwater monitoring program, including mining areas monitored is <br />presented in Table 7.
