The revision is submitted as requested by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety(DRMS)to address changes to piping of the high grade mill (HGM) solution to
Arequa Gulch Valley Leach Facility (AGVLF).
This submission is related to past TR's, specifically#74: Squaw Gulch Valley Leach Facility
(SGVLF) Toe Berm Underdrain Pumpback; and TR#57 Process Fluid Injection Program Hydro-
Jex. Attached within TR#57, you will find a report from AMEC in reference to the Hydro-Jex
Program Review. This report defines parameters of the high pressure injection wells to ensure
the AGVLF stability will not be affected. The two new Infiltration Wells for the HGM solution
were installed according to the findings of this report. In addition,NewFields has written a
technical memo with an evaluation of the stability of the AGVLF when fluids are drained into
the facility. This technical memo should address any stability concerns and comply with your
request that an evaluation be done with the submission of the TR.
In Section 6.5 Water Balance and Recycling of the Amendment 10 application it was predicted
that ...approximately 60 gpm from the mill leach circuit will be pumped to AGVLF or SGVLF
and either injected into the barren pipeline or to a designated drip tube distribution system. As
the HGM has undergone commissioning, it has been necessary to refine this original prediction
of volume and experience working with the high pH water has led to an improved method of
managing the water using deep injection rather than the surface drip system originally proposed.
