8. Proposed Final Land Use: Reclamation of the site will include developed water storage <br /> through the creation of three water storage lakes and creation of a <br /> 17-acre wetland/wildlife habitat adjacent to Big Dry Creek. <br /> 9. Substance to be mined: The operation will excavate and process alluvial sand and gravel. <br /> 10. Type of Mining Operation: Surface mining. <br /> 11. Depth of Excavation and Distance to Nearest Surface Water Flow: The maximum <br /> depth of excavation will be approximately 30 feet. The nearest <br /> flowing natural water source is the South Platte River. A minimum <br /> setback of 100 feet will be maintained between the mine pits and <br /> the South Platte. <br /> 12. Total Number of Acres to be permitted: 180 acres. <br /> 13. Total Number of Acres Disturbed: The total number of acres to be disturbed will be <br /> approximately 132 acres. <br /> 14. Miles of Road to be constructed: None. <br /> 15. Life of Mine: Sand and gravel reserves will be sufficient for approximately 12 <br /> years of mining. <br /> 16. During Which Months Do You Anticipate Active Operation? The project will be <br /> operated on a year-round basis. <br /> 17. Will the Completed Mine Contain Ponded Water? Yes. <br /> 18.
