4.7 Soils
Soils on the combined properties consist of Dacono Clay Loam, Colombo Clay Loam,
Vona Sandy Loam,Aquolls and Aquents. These soils are described in Soils Survey of Weld
County, Southern Part[United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service
(SCS), 1980]. Pertinent excerpts from the soil survey are provided in this document.
4.8 Water Resources
Information on the location and ownership of wells located within 600 feet of the proposed
mining area can be found in Exhibit G of the previously submitted and approved permit
applications for M-2007-008 and M-2008-082 .
4.9 Wetlands Delineation
Wetlands areas associated with the subject property were previously identified by Warren
Keammerer. However, because wetland impacts are not anticipated,no jurisdictional
determinations under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act have been made. In the event that
mining involves excavation of areas identified as jurisdictional wetlands, the Applicant will
comply with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act as administered by the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers.
3
