Bullger Basin retains a water right for 2.3 cfs off Pennsylvania Creek. Current and past mining
operations have relied on snow melt and storm water catchment to charge process ponds. Early spring
mine operations consist of maintaining pond levels to capture run off and charge ponds. Pond areas are
natural catchment areas for snowpack. Due to the slope of the mountain and excavated areas, runoff
and storm water naturally drains to the ponds as well as flowing through the 14" line from the plant
area. Water levels during operation are then maintained via fresh water from Pennsylvania Creek as per
ditch priorities. The inlet of fresh water from Pennsylvania Creek is gravity fed through an 8" HDPE pipe
to pond 1. Flow is controlled by an 8"valve at pond 1. There is approximately 100' of elevation drop
from the diversion point at Pennsylvania Creek to pond 1, eliminating any possibility of back flow or
siphon to the creek. The Bullger Basin claim retains the right of a secondary diversion point further up
Pennsylvania Creek that can be used to supply water directly to the wash plant. This diversion point has
not been used in several years due to the condition of the existing steel pipe line. Eagle Peaks mining
has materials to replace this line with 8" HDPE. There is approximately 80' of fall from this upper
diversion point to the plant, allowing for gravity feed to the plant and preventing any backflow to
Pennsylvania Creek.
Dams are constructed and maintained to be stable and functional structures and designed to maintain
2' freeboard during normal operations. Ponds maybe mucked out with excavators as needed.
Many of the roads on site have been present for decades. Bullger Basin roads will include adequate
burming and signage.
No overburden is present due to the nature of the site and elevation.Very little topsoil exists as the site
is above tree line and in rocky conditions. There are a couple of old topsoil stockpiles present from
previous mining activities that have some naturally occurring vegetation to prevent erosion. These piles
will be preserved for reclamation.
Mining will continue up the hill, within the boundaries of Bullger Basin permitted area. Boundary
signage is placed along the permitted area boundaries where conceivably accessible.
Stephanie Tunstall
Eagle Peaks Mining LLC
0
v
0
U
0
0
0 2
