Angela Aalbers and Kurtis Blunt representing <br />Colowyo Coal Company (Colowyo) accompained the inspection. The weather was clear with no precipitation and <br />ground conditions were dry. Temperatures for the day were around eighty five degrees fahrenheit. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Three sumps were inspected along the access road in Taylor Creek. Water associated with relief points for the <br />paved section of the Haul Road is collected at the sumps. Each sump was dry and no erosion was observed over <br />the road as well as the discharge point of each sump. <br /> <br />The West Taylor Pond was inspected and held water. The pond was discharge at the time of the inspection and a <br />reading of 0.03 (0.01 cubic ft. per second) at the associated 9” flume was recorded. The embankment was well <br />vegetated. Weed spraying had occurred prior to the inspection and dead thistle was observed along the <br />embankment. The primary discharge was clear of debris and the emergency spillway was well protected. No issues <br />were observed. <br /> <br />The East Taylor Pond held water and was discharge at the time of the inspection. A reading at the associated 30” <br />flume was recorded at 0.03 or 0.04 cubic ft. per second. The discharge was clear and no issues were observed. <br />Embankments were stable and well vegetated. Both primary and emergency spillways were in working order. <br /> <br /> The West Pit Pond was dry during the inspection. It was observed that the pond had been cleaned within the last <br />year. The embankments were stable and additional previous weed sprayed areas were observed around the pond.
